Camp Season: 2005-06-14 to 2005-08-08
Sessions:
Each week will be a different theme with creative art projects the kids will love! At Create and Bounce your kids will be learning, creating and exercising…all while having FUN! The themes for each week are below:
· June 16-18: Dogs, Cats & Pets: Kids love talking about their pets, and this week gives them plenty of chances to play animal-themed games, create special tributes to their favorite animals, and even have a little show-and-tell time. With paintings, sculptures, and mosaics on the agenda, it should be a purr-fectly wonderful time at Create and Bounce
· June 23-25: Circus Science: A lot of thinking and work goes into creating a circus act, and kids will get a look at life under the big top during this week of Create and Bounce. Packed with fun physical activities like building a human pyramid, juggling, and more, the action-oriented lessons are complemented by the creation of functional circus props, elephant sculptures, and canvas paintings of tightrope walkers.
· June 30-July 2: Red, White, & You: Create and Bounce gets patriotic this week, mixing in some meaningful discussion about what it means to be an American with a whole lot of crafts and bouncing. Kids are asked to wear red, white, and/or blue shirts to camp, celebrating America by sculpting eagles, making flags, and even adding a little color to the Statue of Liberty.
· July 7-9: Oceans & Beaches: There’s a whole lot going on beneath the ocean’s surface (and on its sandy shores), and this week gives campers many chances to explore and learn. Kids will gain a little knowledge of marine biology while creating an ocean cross-section poster; they’ll also be painting a shark, making fish out of card stock, pencils and paints, and drawing themselves at the beach. And, of course, they’ll get plenty of daily bouncing.
· July 14-16: Knights & Princesses: There’s a lot to learn and a lot to love about medieval times. Campers will find out all about Chivalry and virtue through games and crafts, and they’ll have a royally excellent time with lots bouncing mixed in. After they’ve created their very own coats of arms, kids will construct clay castles (and maybe even a few snakes and dragons), crowns, helmets, and more.
· July 21-23: Moon & Stars: Create and Bounce goes cosmic this week, as campers get to learn all about the night sky. We’ll talk all about constellations, the moon’s surface, and more – and the daily bouncing will take the fun to new heights. Kids will get the opportunity to make a moon chart out of clay, try their hand at a little constellation scratch art, and paint a tribute to outer space. It’s going to be a blast!
· July 28-30: Jurassic Giants: It’s no secret that kids love dinosaurs – a lot! This week, they’ll get their fill of Jurassic trivia, a fun fossil exercise, dino-charades, and more. In addition to daily bounce time (of course!), campers will complete art projects ranging from stegosaurus sculptures to T-rex paintings. Should be a roaring good week at Create and Bounce!
· July 28-30: Inventor’s Workshop: What do Leonardo Da Vinci and the Wright Brothers have in common? They’re two of the inventors who inspired this quirky, educational week at Create and Bounce. In addition to a great lesson about the six simple machines, this week includes a wide array of building-oriented projects, an airplane-painting session, and a ton of bounce time.
· August 4-6: Radical Rainforests: The earth takes center stage this week at Create and Bounce. Rainforests nurture plant and animal life that can’t be found anywhere else on planet, and kids simply love delving into these rare and wonderful environments. After kicking things off by painting parrots, campers will get to sculpt tree frogs (and maybe even moneys), create oil pastels of rainforest passion flowers, and much more.
· August 11-13: Jurassic Giants: It’s no secret that kids love dinosaurs – a lot!
