  • Description:

Camp Science Safari offers the perfect combination of innovative science curriculum, combined with your choice of morning camp electives, including: sewing/crafts/jewelry design, KNEX Club engineering time, or multi-sports time involving daily sports lessons (soccer, hockey, softball/baseball, basketball, inflatable jousting arena)…plus free activity time, daily water activities including our awesome thirty-foot long inflatable water slide, and our brand new "Paleontology Pit" hour, featuring individual excavation sites with campers digging for their own replica fossils… now included as an awesome addition to every camp!  Our summer 2011 camp line-up includes the following camps:

    Colossal Contraptions:

Engineering/Structural Design/Invention {Ages 6-11} Calling all budding engineers and inventors...this is the camp for you, as each day is packed with awesome building and design projects. Take to the skies after constructing your very own 35" XTreme Wings™ nylon performance stunt glider! Then campers put their engineering skills to the test as they build their own KNEX® high performance, motorized race car, team roller coasters, Bionicle ® creations, and raw egg-dropping contraptions!

    Rocks, Robots, & Reactions:

Geology/Robotics/Basic Chemistry Camp {Ages 6-11}  Here’s an amazing opportunity to experience a week-long program devoted to some of the most exciting fields in science….geology, robotics, and chemistry…all in one camp! From constructing awesome rock and gem collection boards and building your own solar-powered robots, to whipping up a batch of colored glitter slime and interacting with local high school robotics teams showcasing their latest competition robots, this camp sets the bar high and inspires even the youngest budding scientists to rise to the challenge!

    Girls Rock:

Geology/Basic Chemistry/Engineering Camp {Ages 6-11} Our brand-new "Girls Rock" camp offers a cool combination of our Colossal Contraptions and Rocks and Robots camp…yet all with a new twist designed just for the girls. Campers will design their own rock and gem collection boards, whip up some “hearts and glitter” slime, use erosion to create their own sand art project, and wrap up the week by battling it out against the Colossal Contraptions Camp by designing a raw egg-dropping contraption to be launched by slingshot across the park! Show ‘em how it’s done ladies!

    **New Bonus Camp**
Grab your chisels and hammers as we embark on a search of prehistoric proportion! Each of the camps above will also include an awesome new bonus camp...our “Paleontology Pit” hour, featuring individual excavation sites with campers digging for their own replica fossils or buried treasure…now included as an awesome addition to every camp!

    **New Camp Elective Feature**
In order to customize the camp experience for each child, all of our camps now offer a morning elective selection. Campers may choose one weekly elective from the following activities upon registration:

    1. Sewing/Crafts/Jewelry Design: Canvas sewing projects, woodworking and paint, stained glass, original jewelry design and creations, and more!

    2. "KNEX Club" Engineering Hour: From motorized race cars to enormous roller coasters, campers will be able to select from an extensive array of KNEX building projects, with varying degrees of difficulty and work both independently and in teams to build their designs.

    3. Multi-Sports Mini Camp: A camp within a camp as campers spend the week involved in a variety of sports activities, including soccer, hockey, softball/baseball, dodge ball, hand ball, basketball, and our amazing end-of-the-week battle in our brand new inflatable jousting arena!
