ENJOY A SUMMER BY THE SEA !!!
Located on the shores of Sippican Harbor, Buzzards Bay, in Marion, Massachusetts, the Tabor Academy Summer Program strives to create a welcoming environment that encourages the development of campers not only academically, but also athletically and personally as well. Tabor Academy provides first-class facilities for academics, the fine performing arts, and outdoor sports (with 9 playing fields, 7 all-weather tennis courts, and access to a golf course).
Established in 1917, the Tabor Academy Summer Program gives young people ages 9-15 the opportunity to develop to their full potential as athletes, scholars and individuals. Under the guidance of highly qualified counselors, coaches and teachers, the program encourages young people to take pride in their personal achievements in the classroom, on the playing fields and on the waterfront.
The Residential Program allows young people from around the country and around the world to experience summers at Tabor Academy by residing in various dormitories located throughout the campus. We offer 3 and 6 week options. The Day Program is a unique experience for the children of Marion and surrounding communities.
Each of the activities offered in the program are carefully supervised, with special attention to the individual. Each child creates his or her own recreational program by choosing among the following activities: art, baseball/softball, basketball, clay, crafts, drama, field hockey, junior sports, lacrosse, sailing, soccer, squash, swimming tennis and volleyball.
Our academic offerings enable children to further develop their skills from prior classes, while preparing them for future academic challenges. The broad and diverse offerings are appropriate for students grade 3-10. Classes are kept small, to enable teachers to work closely with each student.
One of our most popular academic options is our Oceanography course. Tabor’s waterfront oceanography laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility for the study of marine biology. Every Friday, all Oceanography students participate in field trips, including whale watches and visits to aquariums and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.
If all this isn’t enough, we also offer a number of trips and special activities for our children. Some of the trips planned are: Six Flags, Water Country, Science Museum, New England Revolution, Duck Tours in Boston and the Whaling Museum.
